OK! Soon finishing this Saturday, day number 6 of my Whole30 paleo challenge. And, detoxing on weekends is so much harder than in weekdays. But I am not complaining. I have been a dedicated detoxer focusing and not walking any tightropes and falling down in any sugar swamps or dairy oceans.
The rain has been coming down here in Stockholm all day and I have been chilling at home with lit candles and all hippie like flowers in my hair while making food plans and soaking almonds to create my own almond milk to use for smoothies and coffees. I slept in (until 9 am!!! which is a late for me…) Watched a few GIRLS episodes to keep me company. I met up with BFF in the afternoon for a good session in the gym. It was a day for the legs to feel pain, and they did!
Today’s gym diary:
5 minutes warm up on treadmill
Deadlifts: 65 kilos warm up 10 reps, 75 kilos 4 sets 5-8 reps.
Schmidt machine: 5 sets 8-10 reps 90-100 kg
Leg press: 4 sets 6-8 reps 55 kg
Launches with the back leg up on bench: 30 on each leg, 20 kilos bar
Abs cross fit: 30 pelvic balance lifts on BOSU ball, 50 russian twists with 5 kg weight in hand, 30 extended full crunches with arms above hand with 5 kg weight in hand, streched arm plank on a BOSU for balance 30 seconds times 3.
Finished it all off with 20 sweaty minutes on the treadmill and the 5 the last minutes were Tabata going as fast as I could.
And here are a few mixed foodies from Friday and Saturday.
A must when detoxing: lunch box for work. Here with avocado, prawns, salmon and veg. For snacks berry boost and boiled egg.
Paleo style burger. Lots of fried onions, organic beef, egg, home made mayo (too runny this time), sun dried tomatoes and veg.
Getting home after my first real busy week back to the office. Tired but still energy to play with camera+ filters and making myself look ginger!
Pre gym fuel. Look I am drinking black coffee now. All grown up!
There is no easy way around paleo, lot’s of stuff to get into, buy and cook. Planning is key!
Big fat smoothie for dinner this Saturday. It was delish! I used: coconut milk, frozen berries and frozen mango, almond butter, half a banana and acai and spirulina powder
Big blue smoothie on ya’!
Now time to make almond milk. As I said, very quiet and peaceful Saturday night here in the mansion of Ulrika Collvin. But I feel great, happy, in harmony and strong. Not to mention clean! Also butterflies for the Northener are not exactly growing smaller. 47 days before our next adventure! Yes, I will be counting.
